Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 2026 · Last Updated: July 2026

Loopr (“Loopr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides mobile and web applications for organizing golf trips, rounds, matches, leagues, scoring, GPS yardages, AI swing analysis, a social activity feed, group communication, and related social features (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using Loopr, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account details: name or display name, username, email address, and/or phone number (depending on how you sign in)
  • Profile information: profile photo (optional), handicap index, home course, and preferred playing formats
  • Golf activity: trips, rounds, scores, teams, roles, matches, leagues, and results
  • Content you create: photos, videos (including swing recordings you capture or upload for AI Swing Trainer), captions, chat and board messages, expense entries, and other content you submit (“User Content”)
  • Feed content: posts, captions, comments, reactions, RSVPs, and Marketplace listings you create
  • Crew connections: connection invitations you send or accept, and your list of connected players
  • Direct messages you send to other players
  • Discoverability: if you enable it, other players can find your profile by username (you can change this in the App)
  • Invitations: the name and phone number or email you enter for someone you invite
  • Support communications you send us

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and app data: device model, operating system version, app version, and a per-session identifier
  • Usage events tied to a session and device identifier (so these events are not fully anonymous)
  • Diagnostics: crash reports, performance traces, and error logs

Location

With your permission, Loopr collects precise GPS location while you use the App to calculate distances to the green, render hole maps, and power on-course features. Location may be used while the App is in the background during an active round to keep yardages current. On the web, we may estimate your approximate location from your IP address to open the course map near you; you can also search or move the map manually. We do not keep a continuous location history for advertising or profiling. You can disable precise location access at any time in your device settings; some on-course features will not work without it.

Camera, Photos, Microphone & Contacts

  • Camera and Photo Library: to add profile and trip photos, and to record or upload swing videos for AI Swing Trainer (recordings may include audio)
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition: if you ask a rules question by voice, your speech is processed into a text query
  • Contacts: if you invite players from your contacts, we access only the contact you select to pre-fill an invitation — we do not upload your entire address book

Swing & Body-Motion Data

When you use AI Swing Trainer, we process the swing videos you capture or upload and derive body-motion data from them — such as skeletal keypoints and swing metrics (for example tempo, rotation, posture, and joint angles). This data is used to generate your swing analysis and to power the feature. It is not used to identify you and is not used for advertising.

Biometric Authentication

Loopr can use device-level biometrics (such as Face ID or Touch ID) provided by your device to sign you in. Loopr never accesses, stores, or transmits the biometric identifiers your device uses for this authentication. The body-motion data used by AI Swing Trainer, described above, is separate and is not used to identify you.

2. How We Use Your Information

Loopr uses your information to operate and improve the App, including to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you
  • Operate trips, rounds, scoring, leagues, GPS yardages, and social features
  • Operate the feed, Crew connections, direct messages, and other social features
  • Display your activity to the participants you share trips or groups with, and to players you connect with
  • Generate optional AI-assisted content such as round recaps, league explainers, rules guidance, and swing analysis
  • Process swing videos and body-motion data to provide AI Swing Trainer coaching reports
  • Moderate content and keep the community safe, including through automated text and image screening
  • Send invitations you initiate and deliver notifications you enable, such as feed activity and messages
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and improve the App
  • Provide customer support and comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How Information Is Shared

With Other Users

Loopr is collaborative and social. Other participants in a trip, group, or league can see your display name, profile photo, scores, match results, trip activity, expense entries, and messages you post in shared spaces. Players you connect with (“Crew”) can see your feed posts and certain activity — such as completed rounds, achievements, and trip photos — which may be shared to the feed automatically. Anyone you message can see those messages. People you invite or connect with will see your profile name and photo, and people you invite will see who invited them. If you create a share link for a swing analysis, anyone with that link can view that swing video and report, and a public share may be viewable by anyone until you revoke it.

With Service Providers (Processors)

We use trusted providers to run the App under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, including:

  • Cloud backend, database, authentication, and storage (Supabase)
  • Maps, tiles, satellite imagery, and course geometry (Mapbox, using OpenStreetMap and other data)
  • Approximate location from your IP address on the web, to center the course map (ipapi.co, ipwho.is)
  • Crash reporting and diagnostics (Sentry)
  • Sign-in providers (Apple, Google) when you choose them
  • AI processing for optional recap, explainer, rules, and swing-analysis features, and for automated safety screening of images posted to the feed (OpenAI)
  • A third-party news source (ESPN) whose golf headlines may appear in the feed, with links to their site
  • A messaging provider to deliver SMS or email invitations you send

Legal and Safety

We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Loopr, our users, or the public.

4. AI-Assisted Features

Some optional features use AI to generate text (such as round recaps, league explainers, and rules guidance). To do this, relevant round and player data — such as scores, display names, and identifiers — is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, through its API.

AI Swing Trainer additionally sends frames from your swing video and derived body-motion metrics to OpenAI to produce your coaching report. Swing analysis is for general informational and practice purposes only and is not professional instruction, medical, or fitness advice.

If you explicitly opt in (this is off by default), the phase corrections you make to a swing may be used to help improve Loopr’s automatic swing-phase detection. This training data is de-identified and does not include your video images, and you can use AI Swing Trainer without opting in.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate or incomplete and is provided for entertainment and convenience only. Rules guidance is not an official ruling under the Rules of Golf. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models, and we do not use your data for advertising.

We also use automated moderation to help keep the feed safe. Images you post to the feed may be sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) for safety screening, and text may be screened by automated filters. This screening is used only for moderation — not to train models and not for advertising.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete your account in the App, your account and personal data are removed from our live systems immediately. Residual copies in encrypted backups are deleted within 30 days. Content you shared into collaborative spaces (such as a score in a league, a message in a trip, or a post in the feed) may be retained in de-identified form where needed for the integrity of those shared records. Swing videos and their derived data are removed when you delete the swing or your account; any de-identified training data you chose to contribute is not linked to your account and may be retained to maintain the integrity of the detection model.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to certain processing.

  • Account deletion: you can delete your account directly in the App (Settings → Data & Privacy), or by emailing us
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” — we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined
  • EEA/UK (GDPR): our legal bases are performance of our contract with you, your consent (e.g., location, microphone, contacts), our legitimate interests (security, improvement), and legal compliance — you may also complain to your supervisory authority

To exercise these rights, use in-app support or email support@looprgolfapp.com.

7. Data Security

Loopr uses industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transmission, secure authentication, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies, Local Storage & Similar Technologies

Loopr does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on our websites. We do not sell or share your information for advertising.

Our web apps (the Management Hub and the guest scoring pages) use your browser’s local storage and, on the Hub, IndexedDB — not cookies — to make the service work. These are strictly necessary for functionality you request, so we do not display a cookie-consent banner. We use them to:

  • Keep you signed in and refresh your session securely (authentication tokens)
  • Remember your in-app preferences, such as Swing Lab overlay and playback settings
  • Save scores you enter as a guest so they aren’t lost if your connection drops
  • Cache swing-analysis results on your device so reports load quickly

You can clear this data at any time by signing out or clearing your browser’s site data; doing so will sign you out and reset your preferences.

Third Parties Contacted by Our Web Apps

When you load our web apps, your device connects to services needed to run them, and those services necessarily receive your IP address and basic request data. Fonts are self-hosted by us and are not fetched from third-party font services. The services contacted are:

  • Our backend, hosting, and content delivery (Supabase and Vercel)
  • Map style and satellite imagery tiles, only when you open the course map (Mapbox)
  • An approximate IP-based location lookup to center the course map (ipapi.co, ipwho.is)
  • A code and model delivery network for on-device AI swing analysis (jsDelivr and Google Cloud Storage) — your swing video is processed on your device and is not sent to these providers
  • A QR-code image generator used to create links that open the mobile app

9. Children’s Privacy

Loopr is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Where a higher digital-consent age applies (such as parts of the EEA/UK), users must meet that age or have appropriate consent. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

Loopr is operated from the United States, and your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be communicated in the App and reflected by the “Last Updated” date above.

12. Contact Us

Loopr is operated by an independent developer. Questions about this Policy? Email support@looprgolfapp.com.
